What a perfect day to Nordic ski!! Skies are clear, low 20's with a slight breeze. We received a fluffy inch of snow which will help those classic skiers. Just got the report that Outer Limits trail will not be opening. Still need more snow.

Wildlife tip. Chickadee's and Nuthatches seem to be very sociable birds, often flying together. When you come along the trail and see these birds, stop and observe them. You might hear a more nasally sounding chickadee with a brown cap. This would be a Boreal chickadee. I've already spotted them twice.

We picked up a few more inches of snow yesterday and last night. One of our regular skiers spotted a young bull moose yesterday off Zapolsky trail. Remember, the trick to seeing wildlife is scanning the woods on both sides of the trail. Often we focus on the track and trail in front of our skis for long periods of time.
